I work from home, so I am around, I see people. I have a community now, and it wasn't through my workplace, it was through making an effort to meet the people I walked past every day and lived next to.I don't think it should be one thing or the other - I just think we need more than one solution, and online working is one of the many possibilities for the future.One day we're going to be able to have heart surgeons operate from across the country via surgical tools controlled in VR. We'll be running mining machines on asteroids and controlling robot factory lines in space. Think beyond the next twenty years to the next hundred years, because by then I mean fuck knows. Either way, people need to get used to the workplace changing, whether it's a company owner hiring remote employees, or a worker learning new skills to stay competitive.
