The dumbest part about this is nobody seems to actually have read the article. All the hard left people in the comments are circle jerking about how free housing should be given to anyone who can't afford it, and all the hard right are protesting that we can't just give free housing out like candy to anyone who asks. Meanwhile AOC never even proposed either of those, just getting rid of tax cuts that decentivize affordable housing and putting legislation in effect that would ease restrictions to government funded housing for rehabilitating criminals. Everyone in the comments seems to have just grabbed the headline and extrapolated whatever strawman they wanted from it.
