This is a simple supply and demand problem. These cities have all the jobs and limited housing. People need to live near where they work in order to take advantage of the job, which increases demand beyond supply. That causes rents and housing prices to soar. What we need to do is increase supply, but because we're dealing with real estate, there's only a limited amount of space where we can do that.
